I've already had to deal with 2 colds this month. Fortunately I've received some really good advice on treating it holistically. With a trip to the health food&supplement store and a modest bill I've picked up everything I need to get me through the winter months (hopefully). I'm going to list the basics of what I'm doing here, and over the months I'll report on it's success and on anything I tweak. For starters I've up'ed my in take of vitamins, specifically omega-3 and vitamin C. I was told that both those things helps not only your body, but your mood. On top of that I've been taking a multi-vit, and a vitamin D. When I'm sick I've been taking a Zinc and an Echinacea as well. The new elements to my regime in an immune booster, oregano oil and an Echinacea herbal sore throat spray (instead of the capsules I was taking before). The immune booster is going to become a normal part of my routine and the oregano oil might (I'm going to look for the pill form tho, the oil by it's self is really really nasty) Apparently oregano oil is really good for headaches and migraines as well as the omega-3. The lovely lady who provided me with all this information said she used to be a serious migraine sufferer and took a lot of oregano oil and omega-3 every day for a month straight and she's never had a problem since.
