Happy New Years!!!

2010 is over, and a new year is here. I would like to say that this year is going to be different. That I'm going to work harder, and that I'm going to be a better student and that I'm going to get back into shape... so on and so forth. But knowing me that wont happen.

I was excited, however, to the start of the new semester, I think it'll go a little smoother now that I know how the school works. I've had my first week of classes and as expected I'm already procrastinating on homework. But my schedule is pretty nice, I have 4 days off a week, :) Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. The only problem with this is that now, Friday feels like another Monday -_-, so I now have 2 Mondays, a Tuesday, and 2 weekends... My sleep schedule is going to be so mess up unless I get my act together. Monday, Tuesday and Friday I wake up at 7 for my 8:30 classes, and the rest of the week I wake up at about noon or later.... D: I foresee I huge problem with this.

My first week of classes went well. My first drawing class was a bit tedious though. It's been a while since I've drawn so I was having trouble with the in class exercise. To the right is some thumbnail sketches for the first project for that class. I have to get working on that, since it's due Tuesday. How quickly we forget that profs like to assign things due for the next week. It has to be a fully rendered 14"X10" drawing with a word written in 3D letters, and obviously it has to be conceptual. I'm not feeling confident enough to be able to render a drawing as nice as he expected it in time for next class. :-/

My essay class is also kind of insane, I have a lot of reading to do, I think she assigned 5 articles to be read for the next class. I don't really understand the point, cause we're going to be discussing these articles, but by the time I've read them all and get to class, I'm going to have all of them confused and mushed together in my head, :'( how am I supposed to discus them?

Surprisingly, I'm looking forward to the lecture. It's about current culture and about how we, as a mass society use and view images. One week we're discussing politics and propaganda, another we'll be looking at advertisement, we'll also being looking at the authenticity of art work since the digital age, and one topic that seems out of place, but dose fit is how images are used for science. If there's anything strikes me as particularly interesting, I might do a blog post about it.

Since I have big blocks of time free I'm going to work in recreation time, I'm hoping that if I have scheduled me time, then I will be less likely to procrastinate. With how my classes are set up, I really can't afford to let stuff go to the last minute, like last semester. For me time I'm going to get back into doing yoga every 2nd day, I also brought Dance Dance Revolution from home and I have a couple books I've been dying to read.

Thank you mom for sending me a copy of Eat, Pray, Love. :) I can't wait to read it.

I've got to get working on homework, tomorrow I'm going to busy - have to do groceries and meet up with someone - so no time tomorrow.
